Hi there, i think i know the answer to this already, but is there any way to schedule recording of programs on UTV using Sky+, wanted to use it for the upcoming formula one season to catch the early morning races.

No, not on a Irish sub. It doesn't have a channel number on the EPG, so you wont be able to record it on a Sky+. Same as any other channel stored in Other Channels.

i blame TV3. Sky i am sure would love to see UTV on the EPG and EPG have said before how they want to be there too

BBC4 and BBC24 are 2 other important FTA channels that are missing from SKY+ in Ireland. The inclusion of these channels on the epg would make SKY+ more attractive and mean more sales for SKY. The omission of these channels are nothing to do with TV3.

Well, TV3 is at least partially responsible for UTV not being on the Irish EPG, as far as I remember, due to TV3 having rights to major primetime ITV shows in Ireland. TV3 would have nothing to do with the others not being on our EPG though.

The other BBC's would be up to Sky, who would need to pay BBC Worldwide to have the extra BBC's on the EPG.

It was TV3's legal action in the UK High Court against (at the time) their parent company, a side effect of which caused ITV to drop ITV2 and 3 from the Irish EPG.
