No Reads on Villian he had just joined the table about 3 hands ago i have only been at the table for a round myself.

Hero 96k Blinds 3000/6000 and Villian covers

    Average stack is about 50k.

Down to the last 30 about 5k for 1st.

I am in the BB with 8s,9s. Folded around to the cut off who makes it 12k total to play (Minraise). This is in no way a sign of a monster standard is terrible and it has been the norm for alot of players to do this.

Button folds as does the small blind. I call. Comments ?

    Flop Jc,10s,2d Rainbow

    I check he bets 20k and i push ? Comments ?

    Opr

The hand should be declared dead I think as you both hold the 10 of spades and flop the ten of spades...?

Lol i assume thats a typo. It's a very dodgy sort of situation. If you're going to play that hand I think you should reraise pre-flop and bet out yourself on that flop. Usually I try to take control of the hand pre-flop if I'm defending my blind - especially if you think the min-raise is weak. I would often let this hand go preflop - even to the min-raise as with an M of 10 you have very little room for cute plays. Odds wise of course you should not lay it down pre-flop lol

Edit : if the board was two tone I think this play would be bad as it would stink of a flush draw. People don't seem to see straight draws as easily as flush draws and I would be worried about you having J 10 if I was villian here. So...well played...I think..?

    I'd prefer a push with 89 over 910.

Is he a bit of a calling station, that would be my only reservation with this play, otherwise I like.

No reads but i suppose i do sometimes make the big mistake of thinking because someone has alot of chips he must be able to play to a decent enough level.

i would have to know that villain can fold AK,AQ,KQ, here befor i do this.
if the standard is really bad then i would really advice against this kind of plays that rely heavily on what villain does.

i would prefer a lead on the flop than check raise here.
