Not strictly speaking a "classic", but an unusual vehicle none the less, and the people who've expressed interest in seein the pics have been in this forum so i'm hopin this is an ok place for it...

    MyP100012.jpg

Hope that pic gos up properly...

I'm very pleasded with it anyway, it has the 2 litre Pinto (Carb version), 5 Speed manual gearbox, and is the "Californian" Edition.
Is near perfect for a 17 year old pickup truck 95% rust free, only a tiny bit of surface rust on roll bar and tiniest bit on the driver's door, just on edge where paint was scraped of fit against a wall a few years ago.

Hoping to get a Irish reg soon.

You should be really proud of it. Do you know how many were sold in Ireland.

Now they are rare. Did you manage to deal with that hub/studs question you were asking about in the motors forum?

Very nice. I've always fancied a slammed Sierra Estate meself, but there's bugger all of them left. All killed in the scrappage purges I reckon.

    Thanks for the interest lads.

@PanhardPL: Yes i am very proud of it, but no unfortunataly i have no idea how many were sold here. I'm guessin not many as when i wnet to VRT it, the couldnt find one on the system and have to make up a new entry for a P100 Californian with the 2 litre pinto engine. They only had a standard 1.8td model an dthe old Cortina version listed.

@MAXDAMAGE: Unfortunately i havnt sorted that yet, i really want some Weller style 8 spoke steel wheels for it.
And i agree with you, they are EXTREMELY rare, i sometimes see one other white one in limerick which Tara Oils used to have, a standard 1.8TD model, and i know of one in cork with a cosworth turbo engine, a red TD in loughrea Co. Galway and have heard of another Pinto powered one lyin in someone's yard...

@CorKtina: I'm planning on going to that meet, but have No idea how to get there, V6MAT gave me partial directions when i was talkin to him On MSN messenger but i had to leave half way through. Any chance you could PM me directions Either on this or on EVERYFORD? would be greatly appreciated.

@Dahamsta: A friend of mine used to drive a totally slammed V6 turbo technics sierra 4x4 estate, moved to scotland and sold it shortly after, was a beast of a car.
If you want a sierra estate project i think i was talkin to a guy about one a few weeks ago, could try find his number and PM it to you if you like, maybe he still has it...

Appreciate that AsphaltRisin, but I'm putting off my wunderproject until I have somewhere to put it. Renting at the moment, but "a barn" is in my list of requirements for when I buy a house. :)

Nice. Looks in fabulous nick !

My taste would usually only run to the hatchbacks (my first car was an '85 Sierra). Always wanted an XR4x4 or the unique XR4i shape.

I like any sierra i can get my hands on. Have 2 granadas as well, waiting to get new engine put into one of then, then i want to get some old cheap sierra and do it up, that's kind of my hobby, sierras and granadas, plus the odd capri, but i never have enough money for them.
You know any running sierras/granadas very cheap for project i might take up in next couple months?

I remember seeing a PI00 but it was a Cortina Mk5. It had an 84 reg, so it was built 2 years after the end of general Cortina production. I think it was from South Africa originally.

    Not Your Ornery Onager

Looks lovely, but I think you should remove the pedestrian-slicing bullbars.
