Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Suggestions..

I'm looking at updating my dirty Gateway keyboard for something a bit sleeker. I had my eye on MS's Optical Desktop 6000, but I saw on some other threads that people found the keyboard to be poor - is that the case?

In PEATs I noticed the LoigiTech S510. There's a cheaper version on Komplett (here) but it doesn't seem to offer the media remote control that I found in the version in PEATs. Obviously it's a bit of a gimmick but I watch enough stuff through Media Player that it might work for me.

Has anyone experience with these keyboard setups? I'm not really a gamer and the keyboard would be in the same room as the PC so line-of-sight shouldn't be an issue. Do the media keys found on many only integrate with Media Player or can it work with others (e.g. Media Player Classic)?

    Help appreciated!

I got a Microsoft Wireless Optical set thing nothing flash
link, the media keys are the job, i'd be lost without them now... Works with WMP or MediaMonkey here (haven't tried with anything else). HOWEVER, the mouse was a hunk of junk, huge lag between clicking and the click registering on the Computer... But the keyboard is the job...

I would steer clear of them but that is just my opinion. The amount of ones in my place of employment that have been replaced is shocking. We no longer order them.

By "them" you mean the M$ Optical Desktop right?

Seems like the LogiTech ones are getting the all round better reviews - has anyone got the S510? Is the keyboard quiet and comfortable to use and does the Media Player element integrate well?

IMO go for logitech. Been using their stuff for years and havn't had any trouble.. In fact i've been very pleased. No lags like have been reported with M$ stuff.

I find the media keys great. Once you have them, you'll never want to go back!
