can somone suggest a more advanced alternative to windows movie maker. I am just getting into editing and can see the limits of wmm. I dont have access to bit torrent. A free program would be best or a relativly in-expensive one.
    Thanks

There aren't really any good free non-linear editors (NLEs, i.e. for working with multiple tracks of video). VirtualDub is good, but it's a linear editor, so you can only really work with one piece of video at a time meaning it's only really useful for basic editing and processing (which it is really good for).

Pinnacle Studio is a pretty reasonably priced editing suite. I don't know exactly how much it is, but it's certainly less than €100. It's a long way off professional but it's probably the next logical step for you to take from Windows Movie Maker.

Avid have a free version of their software too, but it will have a steeper learning curve than Pinnacle.
