Just a warning for partypoker players. I was going to make a deposit today into partypoker of £100, I noticed I was going to get only $190.72. It seemed a small amount, the xe.com rate is 193.158 at this time. Now I know partypoker are not always in touch with the actual rate, so I had a look at what sterling i'd get back from partypoker if i cashed out $190.72. and it said £98.01. That's almost 2% gain for them. This is a new development from partypoker, I'm not sure when they started doing this but I know they haven't always done this, it's taking the pi$$ big time imo and I just wanted to make people aware of it.

Did you get on to Party and ask them are they doing this? Or is there any information on the website to say they are? I doubt they would get away with it if its not advertised. Plus im nearly sure you would have to agree to new terms and conditions if this was to be updated.

Why would I need to ask when the evidence is there in front of my face so to speak. I detailed exactly how I noticed this and even double checked. I don't see why you would think I would be mistaken tbh and I'm hardly lying, I'm a regular poster here after all. If someone else with a uk debit card who uses partypoker wants to check to confirm I'm not bs'ing for the doubters out there, be my guest.

btw I've posted this on 2+2 now as well as I think people should be made aware of this in the broader poker community http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=inet&page=0&PHPSESSID=

If you were being overcharged by your bank would you not ask them??

I really don't get your point. I know I'm being charged seperate buying and selling currency rate as I think I have outlined pretty clearly, so what exactly should I be asking them something which is already self evident:confused: . The only point of me asking them imo is if I wanted specifics on what their currency exchange policy is at this point in time, to see if they have somewhere in small print in their terms and conditions where let's face it not many of us look at, do they!? I might get around to asking them but whether it's in their T&C or other small print is kind of irrelevant to me tbh, there is an effective extra form of income for partypoker which I'm not happy about.

If I'm going to use it in future i'll probably do as bohsman suggest and use neteller.

btw if you want confirmation that this is happening none other than the well-known poker software guru jukofyork has replied to my post on 2+2 to confirm this is occuring. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=9514085&an=0&page=0&gonew=1#UNREAD

Ok I have checked the site. You are not being charged different currency rates for depositing and withdrawing.

I was getting $1.96 sterling rate with VC

??? tbh I'm having my doubts if you have actually done this, for some reason I don't know why you seem to have a bee in your bonnet about this post from the start.

Outline exactly how you have checked this, just like I did!! What form of deposit etc. Coz i sure as hell am getting charged seperate buying and selling rate and I'm getting kinda p'd off at the implication that I'm making this up.
it is possible that it is just happening for uk accounts though I would have thought that it would have been for all currencies.

    From the site:

We may always at our sole discretion, choose to pay, part or all, of your withdrawals by reversing any prior charges made to a debit card or virtual payment accounts first.

Party are chargind a withdrawl fee on withdrawls back to credit cards (don't think they're doing this for deposits, but they certainly did for a recent withdrawl i made)

No fcukin way, if i do so again it'll be via neteller.

Yeah they do charge for withdrawals to credit cards, I occasionally withdraw to my irish visa card and they charge me $1, this is a seperate issue though from actualy different buying and selling currency rates.

I completely forgot to test this with my irish visa card. The exact same thing is happening. For 100 euros you will at this point in time get $129.95. If you try to cash out $129.95 now you will get €97.25, i.e €2.75 difference, as $1 of this is a credit card fee, it implies party are making about €2 per every €100 if you deposit and withdraw via credit card or debit cards, whether you are in Great Britain or Ireland and I presume anywhere in the eurozone and probably elsewhere. So it seems to be 2% across the board, there is a lot of confirmation happening about this on the 2+2 thread,

if any party poker player (other than White Knight who seems intent on spoiling this thread.) wants to check using the method i outlined to give that confirmation here it mgith be a good idea.

Well there is no convincing you otherwise Sherlock.

I would advise contacting the company and asking them.
