    Hi all
I turned on the PC last night to this blue screen for maybe 3rd time in 7 months

I didn't save all the text ( it goies on about maybe problem with recent installations etc (aren't any i can recall)

I did write down this :
A problem has been detected and windows has been shot down to prevent damage to your computer

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    etc etc

Disable BIOS options such as cashing or shadowing

    *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xC008BB80,0x0000000,0x00000000,0x80505b43)

    Any ideas?

Also I get the attached warning every time I turn on and it then minimies to the task bar, stays there, cant be closed, and I can't find it in running tasks/prossesses in task manager .

I think this might relate to tryiing to de-install Dells insdtallation of McAfee

    Any help appreciated

Irql not less than or equal was a BSOD I saw quite a lot of on my old machine...I chased down drivers and stuff for a week trying to find the problem (as it's usually driver related), but when that hit a blank, I ended up running a test on the RAM and it turned out I had a bad stick...seemingly one of the less used sectors since the problem would only happen when running memory intensive programs like games or sometimes at boot.

Try memcheck86 and see if the RAM's okay.

Your IE problem I have no idea...I gave up on IE ages ago.

yeah got the name wrong. I forget how I ran the diagnostic (been a while) but full instructions were included in the readme IIRC.

This may not be your problem but it's an easy thing to exclude....but if you're pretty sure it's not something you recently installed then bad RAM is a good possibility.
The only other time I ever saw this error code was for a crappy USB DSL modem that I promptly uninstalled and binned...
