Have I ruined my computer?

Hi, I got windows XP professional last week (I need to connect to the wireless network in my college) and I installed it as a new system, as in everything I had before was wiped from the computer. What I didn't realise was that Microsoft word and all the other programs I use would be gone also. Other things such as connections I had have disappeared also...

My question is: is there anyway to retrieve or get my programs etc back or transfer it from my home computer to my laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Nope programs need to installed , not sure if you formatted but you aint getting install files back.

    2. Transfer from your computer yes possible but use the original cd you installed from and you be fine.
