    Personally I'd wait a couple of months before buying any mac at the moment - they will be bringing out Leopard (the new OS) by May and the entire line including the MacBook Pros should be getting a speed bump by then too.

    200 euros is a good saving though.

    couldnt wait a couple of months, plus theres a good chance that leopard may be the only upgrade. kearnsr, got the 2.16 ghz, its accross the board tho.

    what's the deal with buying macbooks/pro's in retail stores.

    do you just get the macbook base models ie.

    13-inch black

    * 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    * 1GB memory
    * 120GB hard drive
    * Double-layer SuperDrive

    or can you get customised ones with like 2Gb ram and 200Gb hard drive?

    You can get customised ones, but they have to order them in for you.
