The European Council of Skeptical Organisations (ECSO) co-ordinates the activities of European organisations that investigate pseudo-scientific statements and claims of paranormal phenomena, and to make the results of those investigations known to the public. It also organises an annual congress which, in 2007, will be hosted by the Irish Skeptics Society in Dublin.

The theme of the Dublin congress will be "Threats to Science and Reason: Analysis and Response". The Congress will take place from Friday September 7th to Sunday September 9th inclusive.

We have an exciting line up of national and international speakers, a list of which will be up on the site by early next week.

    Watch this space!

i wonder can we suggest speakers?

personally, i think shane hegarty (the IT journo) would be a great addition to the conference given his recent articles on critical thinking, etc.

he might not carry the scientific clout of some of the other speakers, but he might bring a lighter note to the proceedings! :)
