On tomorrow nights games the Dubs and Tyrone should be smarting after their defeats. If Donegal get the same chances that they got in the McKenna Cup Final and actually convert some of them should be a lot closer. Will be interesting to see how McFadden does seeing as he is starting a match.

Home advantage should swing most of the others as well excepting Fermanagh as they are not at home!

Surprise might be Leitrim winning away at Longford. They're due a win.

The League is getting very interesting at the minute. Dublin, Down and Derry in serious danger of being in Division 3 next year. Expect some committed performances from these counties from now on!

    Tyrone 1-8, Donegal 2-11.

A great result for us and we are sitting pretty at the top of the table. Now for Kerry at home.

First division football next year is almost guaranteed now but we must keep performing. All this leads me to think ahead to the championship and Armagh at home. We really need to start beating them.

I was at Dublin v Cork.

Dublin played very well, but that has to be taken in the context of Cork being shíte. Impossible to imagine how that same team could have beaten Tyrone the last day.

Whelan and Sherlock both confirmed that they remain invaluable for Dublin.

Quinn, Cullen and Henry were the other best performers for the Dubs.

was at roscommon vs carlow, dear god it was a shocking bad game but conditions meant it couldnt be any different! we were little lucky in the end to win but looked good for it all the way through. local derby against longford in two weeks could decide our season!!

Good win for Wicklow, Glynn with two goals. Really was needed, as they badly need to come 4th at least. Playing Meath next week, but Sligo have Cavan, so lets hope for something decent from this.

Fantastic result and no reason why we shouldn't be in League Semis. The League is very encouraging but Armagh and possibly Tyrone after that will be the test in the Championship. Looking good so far tho!

Cavan beat Sligo by 2 points at the weekend. Ref absolutely robbed Sligo and gifted the win to Cavan, according to reports.

Absolute BS. I was at the game and Sligo were lucky to not have had three players sent off for two over the top tackles, a punch and possibly a deliberate elbow on Cavan players. In the second half the referee did nothing but give Sligo handy frees and even played almost five minutes injury time when three minutes was put up on the board (there was no stoppages in between).

I looked at some of the comments on hoganstand and I was gobsmacked that Sligo felt so hard done by. The referee was definately poor for both sides, and he certainly didn't cost either side the game. Sligo didn't win because they have shíte forwards, end of.

Not having a go at you at all here Rooster, but its just the suggestion that Sligo were "robbed by the referee" that gets on my tits.

There really is no reason we cannot carry this form untill June, Devenney is in some form the last few games the backs didnt know what to do with him, Toye was a great sub at such an early stage and Roper is a legond. The only fear I would have is a free taker on the left peg, McFadden missed a few easy ones in the first half.

From now on you will see League games reflecting Championship form. The first few rounds of the League will have a number of surprise results, the last few, not so many. Armagh, for example, should have the Cross lads back for the rest of their campaign.

The biggest surprise, for me, is the poor performance for Tyrone. It's going to be very hard for them to switch it on for the Ulster Championship.

I wont complain if Wicklow end up in the top 4, and can play championship football for that bit longer this summer:p

That's why the Tyrone performance surprised me. I know they had a few injuries but still. Should definitely start seeing serious games from now on. Cork, Armagh, Down, Derry or Galway don't want to be playing Div. 3 Football no matter what they say after the results to come.

Sligo and Offaly would not be Div. 4 teams either going on recent championships and leagues.

Where did you read these reports? I haven't seen any that said that and it's hard enough to find a report that goes into that much details as it is!

Like Pnapster said, from different fans forums.

    Here's an example:

I travelled on Saturday night to Cavan only to witness one of the most bias and cheating performance of ref I have ever witnessed. Now people will say I am bias towards Sligo. A cavan supporter said he would take the 2pts but he was embarrased and the ref was unfair but in the long run he did Cavan no favours because they did not deserve to win.

The fiirst half was a joke. The first thing ohara did was catch a ball in the spectaculary. But no protection after that. Ohara was getting hammered on/off the ball and then ref would give free against him. If a cavan player dived hed get a free. Frustration was building all the time. Handing frees to cavan and giving yellow cards to Sligo for every foul. D kelly constantly getting fouled on/off the ball. It was just unbelieveabvle. How many Sligo players were injured?? with no free in sight.

I thought I had seen it all M brehony getting sent off. But then Kelly got kicked off the ball on the ankle and umpire seen but never put his hand up. Our physio actyually gave out to the ref for not protecting the Sligo players and got name taken. Now for a physio to do that. We were cheated. Most of our scores came from play and we played all the football and I was quite proud the players didnt react cos I would of. Every Sligoman was of the same opinion. Couldnt believe it. Any true Gaa MAN including Cavan fans could see it. Cavan are poor but we made them look poor. REf won it for them. Take a bow M Hughes. You cheat.

    :)

Wow, now I've heard of tinted specs but that takes the biscuit. You'd be just as well arguing with a brick wall than with that guy no doubt.

There were incidents involving both sets of players, nothing too unusual really. Referee was poor for both sides though.

I reckon he's just bitter that he'll be watching his side competing in the Tommy Cooper Cup this year. Reality is a bitch eh?! :)

I was at the Dublin game in Parnell and it was a great performance from Dublin.Special mentions go to Conal Keaney,Cluxton and Diarmuid Connolly.Cork were apalling and they never once looked like the dangerous side they can be in the championship or against Tyrone last saturday week.

I thought Shane Ryan got on the ball and got into space but shooting was off.

very encouraging from the dubs after some terrible performances and results.
