Was wondering if anyone out there could recommend a dermatoligist in Dublin.
I checked Goldenpages.ie and only 1 there, and he is in the Blackrock Clinic.
    Any advice would be appreciated

There is one in the Charlemont Clinic under the name Rosemary Colleman. Well known in her field and very approachable.

    Try this place.
I know someone who went there and although it was quite expensive, it was well worth the money.

    Give them a call anyway!

I found this guy brilliant he is in Blackrock Clinic. It costs 150 to see him when i was last there - but if he sorts out your problem it is well worth it. Plus you can get some back if you have VHI.

Dr. Nicholas Walsh Dermatology 01-2064203 or 01-8360633

I think you need a GP refrerral as well by the way.

Thanks for all the info guys. I wasnt knocking the guy in Blackrock Clinic i just assumed that the waiting list/time would be huge, and also figured it would be very expensive.

Waiting time could be from 4 weeks to 3 months. If you tell them you are very bad they might get you a cancellation. But you have to be prepared to go on an hours notice. Go to your GP and tell them you are geting depressed with the condition and he might fast track you.

Don't tell him you're getting depressed if you are not. If it's acne that you have, and you tell your GP that you're depressed, then the derm might be reluctant to put you on Roaccutane, making it alot more difficult for you.

I don't know what it is that you have, but you still shouldn't lie about that.

You could go publically to see a dermatologist and save the money. There is a list of the all the hospitals in dublin with a consultant dermatologist on www.derm.ie

I don't know what your specific ailment is but thats up to you but go to your doc and get them to refer you to Dr. Watson in James Street hospital (I swear thats her name I'm not winding you up). I had Alopecia Universalis (Google it, you lose all your hair everywhere on your body, eyelashes, eyebrows, head hair, body hair, all of it and its not nice) and really bad Urticaria(its like excema but happens inside your skin instead of on the surface and can cause swelling that can seperate bones, there were days when I'd wake up and my knees became disclocated over night) too for 6 years and no-one was able to help and I went to see her and I still get the odd prob but whereas everone else gave up she never did and I have all my hair back now (and there was a time I never thought that would ever happen) and only get the odd itch, shes f*cking great hon.

Best of luck with it ;)

I used to attend one in the Mater Private and found him very good, his name was Frank Powell. He also has a public clinic in the Mater public hospital too if insurance is an issue.
