Saturday ached like a dark abyss.
You saw it as well as I did,
There was no hug, no tender kiss
    Just poison hanging....

Sunday was filled with deepest silence
The dawn didn't come until the night
I sat on that bed under no pretence
That you would never see the light

Monday was, as all mondays are,
    The quiet stunned motion
You sat silently in your car
As my emotions crashed over, like waves in the ocean.

Tuesday fell straight from the tree
As I lay in your arms never further apart
Your closeness made me feel so free
I've got this pretence down to an art

    Wednesday I saw his face
As i looked in your eyes i couldn't hide
Anymore the need to chance my page
I knew i would hurt you, deep inside

    Thursday came the judgement day
The heart that aches and doesn't lie
    I didn't realise the way
Your love flourished and didn't die

    Friday here i lie alone
In the same bed that you held me close
I see the images cold to the bone
The air of your contempt as sweet as a rose

It's been one week since we first lay
Under the stars and free from worry
I watch you now walk in the rain
All i want is to say i'm sorry.
