So, just out of curiosity, how would one go about selling a photo they have to a newspaper, i was just reading the thread about the reuters photoshop thingy and i wanted to know how i can make money from images to papers.
Some things are obvious like ringing the papers office, but does anyone have any tips or ideas that can help improve your chances of success?

There was a thread last week on this subject, do a search and you should find all you need to know.

Just sell your photos on a stock website and then they are sold
for everything including newspapers, adverts, magazines, books,
    websites etc....

If you want to do that then read this thread:

    http://www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=196883

It will take you about 4 hours to read it but it will answer every
    question you could possibly have.

I have only started selling on Alamy, but there are loads of sites.

    Shane,

Have you actually sold anything on Alamy? What are the prices like?

V interesting link about Alamy.. Are there similar photo sites that cater for the Irish/Uk Market?

Alamy and Scoopt are both UK based.

nope. im only on there a month.

but after that thread I am not expecting to sell
anything for at least 3 months and or untill i get
    about 1000 photos online.

Untill that time I have no expectations.:o

    Prices vary.

The minimum seems to be about 50euro per photo sold
and the average is about 200.

But from what I have read I dont expect to sell any more
than 1 a month. Even with that I would be happy.

I possibly would earn more on shutterstock but there is no
way I would sell any of my photos for 1 euro or less!!

I've been looking into this, it seems to pay off if you know a few tricks, i was just thinking that if you read magazines a lot, just learn what images are being used, and try imitate the elements from them.

And if you're trying to sell images, try using deviantart, but that's a hard site to make money off of, i think... anyone care to share about that?
