m190 dilemma

ok, so I finally decided to go ahead and order the HFC m190, but im stuck between three different versions

there's the plain gun metal/black version

same as above except with full auto (probably never use full auto in a skirmish, but it would be fun to have, and handy for 2/3 shot bursts)

and then theres the wooden grip model

also, anyone know anywhere good to get mags for the above, ehobby only have chrome kjw one's at the moment which fit the m9/m190 or the co2 version which i wouldnt mind as i have co2 cartridges already, but they are horribly long

    Which m190? 9 votes

I'm getting the wood grip model, Scope should be able to tell you more about it, he has two.

ay, thought i remembered someone mentioning they were getting the wood grip version alright...

    decisions.... decisions....

tbh its really down to looks, if i get the black one, ill probably get it with full auto just to have it there for the extremely rare event that i use it, so it's really wood vs metal

did you order extra mags for yours liamo?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭padmundo

As you said you'd like the full auto to have... just in case! If you can order the wood grips as an extra from somewhere then that'd be sweet for you... personally I don't like the wood grips on the beretta's.

yea, think ill just go for the black with the full auto, the wood looks nice, but then again its not a major deal for me, its just different i guess, although i do like the completely black look... now just to find mags... might just go ahead and get an extra chrome one and sand/spraypaint it black, it seems to be difficult enough to find mags for

well ive the full auto 1 meself [the other 1 will be here any minute 3 days from hong kong god i love Keith lol] id recommend the plain semi auto version myself though as it is a tiny bit more reliable, the 1s i have or great and i love em to bits but it can develope a stupid problem with the fire selector. doing something as simple as racking the slide when the safety is on can render fullauto useless apparantly.I think that happend mine the last day at H.R.T.A. 1st time i ever put it on safety because of this fear. some1 racked the slide when i handed it to them [cant blame em at all though but that mite have arsed it up] ive no gas to check it right now. worst case scenario itl fire perfectly in semi and will fire semi when its on fullauto and even safe.

That being said Fullauto is just so viscious on it lol. its comparable to Oisins mac and we all know how frightening that is lol.

Id say one more thing dont get the chrome kjw mags as their a realy starge tight fit [even on the kjw version] im not sure why but theirs a fair differencve between it and the standard black ones

Just noticed ya mentioned getting an black version. Their actualy is an all black version ill have a look and see what shop was selling it. theirs new hfc ninty-two's aswell which look pretty savage to add to your dilemma ;)

hmmm, well even if the full auto stopped working as long as it still fired on semi itd be grand...

definately need more than one mag though, still trying to find somewhere to get them, found them on uncompany (i think) earlier, but the shipping was crazy

Edit: would m92 mags work in an m190? they're basically the same right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

the black kjw ones will work but the chrome ones are a pretty bad fit. id swap grips with ya if ya want cos im not a fan of the woodgrips and i want my pair to look identical :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

cool, thought theyd fit alright... not sure about the grips, i was interested in the wood grips at first, then kinda changed my mind over to the all black look, but ill have a look at your's in hrta next time we're both there and see how they look?

btw... what's shipping like from ehobby, im an impatient bastard

Edit: just went to order the m190 there, but ebay gave out about "seller may not ship to your location", are ehobby ok with shipping to ireland or should i contact them first? i know other people have ordered from ehobby before?? again impatience comes into play here, ill get an answer quicker here than by mail

For pistols do the shipping charges increase much if you buy two or three? I paid a stupid amount a few years back for one pistol from Red Wolf (I dropped the mag within an hour of getting it and broke the damn thing) and it delivered via snail mail and took a month I think to get to me... whatever about 5 day anticipation... a month!!

yea unfortunetly, u just add up all the seperate costs together for ehobby orders which makes shipping very expensive indeed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭padmundo

    damn...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

yea, i wasnt sure whether they gave shipping discount or not, was kinda hoping they would, shipping was $65 in total. if it get's here by the end of the week then itll be worth it.

just remembered i forgot to buy a pair of gloves. doh!

anyone recommend somewhere in dublin to buy fingerless gloves?

not sure about buying them online due to size etc....

well, it arrived this morning! got a chance to fire off a few shots at some coke cans earlier on. very nice pistol, the weight is quite impressive and the quality of it is very nice.

threw a couple of photos up on my site here

the only major downside is it has an orange tip, by the looks of it this could be very easily removed (infact i somehow managed to scratch a tiny bit of it already and it's black underneath) but im not really too bothered about that anyway tbh

accuracy seems good, although i only fired a couple of mags worth through it and wasnt really trying to be extremely accurate.
the magazine that came with it is causing a bit of trouble at the moment, it doesnt seeem to be feeding correctly as bb's are getting stuck, the spring appears to be much weaker than the one in the kjw which i ordered with it but im also wondering if maybe a little bit of oil in the mag will help, ill check this out tomorrow.

other than that it's great, build quality is excellent as is the finish, only thing ive noticed is the paint on the underside of the barrel is slightly scratched already but you never really see this part anyway....

oh and the full auto is great!! it just blasts through a magazine like crazy, obviously this is not really of any great use in a skirmish, but i found it very handy to stick it on full auto and be able to do 2 shot bursts with.

i ordered some targets with it, so ill set them up tomorrow and see how accurate it can be...

    Yay! Happy airsofting :)
Excellent pictures by the way. Damn it, I've been meaning to get one of them for way too long now. Must be since last November! :(

thanks, they're great pistols... id nearly be tempted to leave my mp5 at home and just use the m190 for cqb, if only i had a couple of extra mags

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

Ya extra mags are a killer :( , their just so damn expensive ya can get a new gun for the price of 2 extra mags arrgg its so annoying. on another related note i finished sanding my second m199 a few days ago and Keith has posted the standard grips for me 2day :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

yea, bloody mags are a killer alright.

just spent about half an hour shooting a few rounds, bought two of those cheap folding targets from ehobby (the ones that pop back up when you shoot them all)... accuracy was reasonably good with .20g, but much better with .25g (obviously)
the targets didnt fair so well though, there a little battered... there only cheap things anyway...

that's pretty sound of keith, you holding onto the wood grips or sending them back to him? i might be interested in them?

Edit: got bored so just threw together this image:

Yea its realy sound of him alright. im sending him back the woodgrips cos he just bought a new pistol to get the standard grips for me, so he'll be needing the woodgrips.
