Am going up against my 5th quarry application. one item brought forward by a committe member was molybdenum. If an area has high Mo content in soil, and if lime dust from a badly screened quarry or unsheeted lorrys is broadcast into the environment, it can increase Mo in herbage. This can then be consumed by the animals and lead to a copper deficiency which can have serious concequences for a herd.

I am looking for a database or map that lists 'known areas of high molybdenum' specifically south mayo. would be grateful for any info.
    thanks
