Where do you get your celeb news from?

Do people still buy magazines every week or have websites gradually started to overtake them?

I used to buy Heat religiously, but it got dull around Christmas so haven't bought it since. To fill the void, I've been reading perezhilton.com every day; it's up to date, it's incredibly bitchy and subjective and it's seriously addictive...

thesuperficial.com for the bitchyness, and tmz.com for non-stop updates!

Let me see, where do I start? I buy Reveal, Closer, New & Now, log on to www.perezhilton.com and Sky Showbiz every day, subscribe to Pop Bitch and anything else that takes my fancy. I simply can't get enough of showbiz gossip. Thing is, all the magazines contain the same articles so should really just buy one, can't help it though;)

Oh yeah I'd forgotten about Popbitch; I get the weekly mail too. It's usually just ok, but every couple of weeks there's something really good in it that makes it worthwhile. And tmz.com is good too... I knew my list looked way too short: I'm clearly forgetting tonnes of stuff!

I spent ages the other day looking for a showbiz gossip forum and then poof here it was! Well done. I look loads of places for my gossip, too many to list, but I actually compile my own blog www.thescandal.ie, if any of you would like to take a look. Its just a hobby but I enjoy it. :)

magazines are so behind the internet now - its a waste of money buying them when youve read that same story 2 wks ago on the net!

Great blog Louise, I shall be checking in from time to time :)

I still bye the magazines.... Purely tho because I read them when I'm out... Waiting in the hospital for my appointments... waiting at the bus station..... When I go for lunch in town.....

And yes, its best to just buy one or two, as they all have the same stuff in them!

i dont buy magazines but my mam is always getting them for work so there always ends up being loads around the house like when they're two weeks out of date!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 227 ✭✭Rawr!

Yeah... I mean, I get my mags, and then mam gets all the others LOL....

But like.... theres only so many times that you can read the SAME story!!!

Yeah I meant to write back to this before, but it's a really good blog louise, fair play. When I first saw your post I thought you were just a shill, but you persuaded me ;)

When my gf was looking for the Britney brolly video (when I was looking for it for her...) I came across X17online.

They were first with the video and seem to have a lot of celeb news, haven't really looked at it in depth. No, Honestly :)

Thanks Stargal, I was worried that you might think that so thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt! r3nu4l, there is really nothing to be ashamed of, lots of the people who read my blogsite are straight married men. They tend to send me confessional style comments saying "Is this normal? I'm straight and I keep reading this site! Please tell me I'm normal!" ;)

Cheers louise :D No, I've no issues about reading gossip mags etc. tbh, I'll read anything and I do mean anything from cereal boxes to bus ticket terms and conditions to heavy literature and trashy porn stories! (I've no shame, really!)

In this case I really was searching on behalf of Mrs. r3nu4l! We saw the news report on BBC website, I said "I bet I can find that video" and I did. :)

I do confess to reading celebrity stuff but I don't like myself for it as I do despise 'celebrity' culture. I have plenty of time for famous people who have talent but the Jodie Marsh/Jordan types, WAGS and talentless ex-Big Brother housemates who pimp themselves at every opportunity really annoy me...but that's a rant for another day :)

Now, where's this blog? PM me if you have a link!

I get all my celeb gossip from a publication called the 'Irish Independent'. Its great for celebrity news and all the latest happenings and they always have great star shots on their front page. For some reason, they include little bits of 'serious' news but you can just ignore all that.

Perez has been very bad with updating the site lately - I've been using tmz a lot more than I used to. Also a couple of people here mentioned wwtdd.com (What would Tyler Durden do) and that's been filling the void too - it's excellenth
