    ffs.

I definately wouldn't be afraid of taking pics in the
city center on my own if i had that. :p

    Is this actually real ?

Big yoke alright. I would say there are lots of sports pros wetting themselves at the thought of this.... :)

Does it come with a golf cart, trolley or pack mule? Cant see me carrying that on my back for very long

Looks more like a sub woofer ,from the back of a hiace.

see, it's all very well having a big lens but what about the accessories? such as the wherewithall to carry it around.
    if you used:
a pack mule you'd be done for cruelty.
a trolly or golf cart might be a bit low rent.

    something like this i'd say!!!

    ;)

    lol, Brilliant. :D

I think this will attract more attention than the event that is being
    photographed.

I like the idea of a 2.8 500mm but that lens looks far too heavy and impractical to be of any real use to me.

That lens just about sums up sigma completely ,they really don't give a flying monkey about design.

That thing is a weapon of mass destruction .

LOL, now that's just being silly. Why would you want to know.... Military application mightn't be too far off!!

Hate to imagine what the price tag for this is going to be. I notice they'te throwing in a free 2x teleconverter for whatever the telephone number will be, meaning a 1000mm f5.6 monster

Is it the 1st of April already !

Its actually listed on sigma Uk's website ,no price on it yet though.
Their 18-200 OS lens is working out at around 600 euro.

Its not a lens its a stealer of souls. Knowing Sigma they will supply a case with industrial trolley and a young man to put it on the tripod for ya.. :) Nice one Brian on the WMD :)

are they having a larf... the thing looks like a Russian submarine from the cold war era!

They're crazy I tell you, crazy!

    hah
    "*Camera shown sold separately"
you'd think they'd chuck one in free, given that this thing will probably cost well into 5 figures.

Dear god almighty. I'd say the tripod you'd need to put that thing on would cost almost as much as the lens ! Definately not a 29.99 Argos job ! GorillaPod should do a version for it :-)

They should have left it at F4 and halved the size. I rekon 10 grand at least.
