Hi folks,

I was thinking of getting this

I haven't tried interfacing guitar to pc before and not sure if this is the right thing to get. It comes with Cubase SE and all for 139 whcih ins kinda in my price range.

I basically want to interface the guitar and mic to the pc and do a bit of recording. Are there other simpler options?

If it's JUST for guitar I'd be a little more inclined towards this: http://www.thomann.de/ie/line6_guitar_port.htm

Line6 are market leaders at at digital amp modelling so there's alot in there for the guitarist to play with. Although the Alesis does have preamps for a mic should you decide you need them at a later stage. Shop around, Thomann isn't always as cheap as people think it is. Try www.dv247.co.uk too.

but I'd ideally like to have both guitar and mic inputs. Looking through thomann, there's a load of options there...other devices come with different recording software, so just not sure which to choose.
