Voted for fuzz, though I could easily have picked HJ or robinlacey for example. Other posters who impress me that I can think of are: pokerplaya, valor, lenny leonard, ste05 to name a few.

Probably because he decided to have a baby, and has been quiet of late. If the poll had been a few months ago he'd definitely be up there. Six months ago I think he would have been a clear winner; no offence to anyone else, but his posts have radically changed the thinking on this forum since he joined.

it's like the Oscars, you can't release a film in April and expect people to remember you in February. If anything I think HJ disappointed in 06; if the poll was for 05 I would definitely have voted for him. Robin is one of the best posters here but I didn't think he posted much and I'm surprised he seems to be much higher profile than Fuzz.

Also I read about 70% of the posts on the poker forum last year and I don't remember any by Kraken1800, and one by ecksor about how he was interested in learning the game or something. Are these joke entries or do I need to read the nomination thread?

Yes Ecksor is a joke. Also Kraken is a joke cos he's never posted outside the bad beat sticky. And FWIW, HJ has been just as good in 2006 and is by far the most frequent poster who provides grea answers to all the strategy posts in the forum. Robin, Valor and Fuzzbox are all excellent as well, but they don't contribute as regularly.

Toss up between HJ and fuzzbox for me, either are deserving winners but coin toss went to fuzz. Robin would be up there but I don't think he posted much in 2006.

Also how have the likes of kraken been nominated and Roundtower hasn't? He may not post here as much as before but he's still one of the best posters on boards. Since I don't read boards as much I manage to miss all the nomination threads for these awards. You guys suck at nominations. Also no pillowtalk who deserves a nomination ahead of some of these muppets in fairness.

Don't get that response at all lloyd, didn't say eoin posted much advice but he still deserves a nomination ahead of some of the guys. Just speaking relatively.

And dapper, if I had seen the nomination thread I would have nominated any guys who I felt were left out who deserved to be nominated.

Anyway, I think fuzz or HJ should win this, if it was over the last month or 2 then robin or HJ should be the front-runners, Although valor's contributions def deserve some votes.

im pretty sure Valor posts on 90% of the HH threads in this forum to be fair, and his advice whilst brief is always right imo. roundtower is an excellent low mass high content poster, and i also think lloyd should at least be nominated as he does his best to bring his point across in all the tournment hands.
Valor for me, RT a close second.

Fuzz for me, Robin has been good of late but if its for the whole year then has to be Fuzz.

I generally wont post on strategy threads unless I disagree with the advice allready given, seeing as guys like the above 2 HJ, pokerplaya, valor, RT etc give good advice anything I would add would be noise.

Also I dont like starting my own strategy threads as I usually know where I went wrong.

I'm not really surprised as I don't think any of them are particularly high profile or stand out posters, they are unlikely to be #1 on anyone's list even though they all post pretty good (can't think of many of spectre's posts but he seems reasonable). I think Ste05 is the best of those 3 and I always thought I was the only person who rated him as a quality poster. I'm more surprised at valor not getting votes than any of those 3.
