Heading off travelling: best way to set-up Skype for my folks?

I'd really appreciate any product / set-up help available: I'm heading off travelling in a couple of weeks for a year so would love to be able to use Skype to call my folks @ home. They won't touch the computer so would be great if they could use it like a normal phone.

We have Eircom broadband via landline @ home (could also do with some advice on how to boost this around the house, signal very limited outside room of router).

So, can anybody advise on what type of Skype set-up / handset purchase I should be looking at for this so we can just call them on their Skype phone?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have one of these and sound quality is good.

However, as with most skype phones, it has to be connected to a PC which has to be switched on in order to make or receive calls.

What PC have they got? Desktop or laptop?

Is the pc connected wirelessly to the router?
Is it possible to move the router to a more central location in the house?
