What level should we play at next season?

Social - Mon/Tues
Social - Thurs
Medium - Mon/Tues
Medium - Thurs

It depends on the commitment of other players to me. Im prepared to give the time needed for the Medium. If everyone else is then Medium for me...otherwise, I'd rather not be in a team that's a laughing stock in the Medium league. So I'll vote Medium for now assuming the commitment is there.

I voted for Medium Mon/Tues but want to add a BIG caveat that that's conditional on us substantially improving the squad and getting committment from every player in an 18 man squad that they will be able to make the match and training each week (within reason).

If we can't get all of the above I'd then vote for Social Mon/Tues, though I'd also like to see what the Sunday league will look like.

Medium Thursday but I okay with Medium Tue+Mon

If we play on Thursday do we get better pitches or vice versa? Anything like that?

I voted for social Mon/Tues..all on my lonesome.

My reasoning is simple, this team was started as a social team and to see if it would actually work. It seems that there are still some issues around commitment to training and general availability that could lead to a makeshift team on a week by week basis.

imho it would be far better to play a season in the social level and finish in the top 3, and then move into the medium level once the team is fully established. I don't think that's the case yet, and I feel that the medium league might be a struggle. That's fine as long as everyone is going to get their heads down and work hard, but it needs major commitment to do so.

The problem with the poll is that it envokes a biased view based on pride, everyone wants to think the can play at a higher level, that doesn't mean it's true. Take a season to consolidate and get a set team and formation working week in week out, then move up through the ranks.

Iago at this point in time I have to agree. Any team who can only get 7 up training while aiming for a higher league is kidding themselves.

My caveat above still stands - we can only do Medium if the approach and squad improve dramatically.

We're a month off the start of the new season: we should be looking at getting around 4 friendlies organised with at least as many training/scouting sessions in before then. If we get good committment from that and some new quality players, Medium might be doable. We're hampered by the boards.ie hosting change meaning banner ads aren't available at the moment, which is a pity as I'm sure it would raise awareness plenty.

But for the moment the scepticism is understandable. What's the potential downside of going Social? Is it that we turn out to be so good we walk away with every game and the lack of a challenge makes it boring and we don't improve as a result? What are the odds of that?

What's the potential downside of going Medium? We start out with a squad that looks just about capable, people drop out soon enough, we're down to barebones and end up getting hammered each week meaning more people drop-out.

Putting it that way, Social seems to be the more sensible option, though hopefully we get a load of new committed talent in quite quickly and everything changes....

medium mon tues or thurs is fine for me...

I don't mind playing the social league either though, we'll have a better idea soon after getting new players.
I reckon if we don't get much new talent in, then social could be better.
