    Hi,

Perhaps someone can recommend me a device or tell me if it even exists !

What I am looking for is a device that does the following:

Allows me record TV programmes to the Hard Disk
Allows me transfer this programme to my PC via Ethernet if I want to record to DVD
Can playback movices in DivX or DVD format from the HDD.
Don't want a DVD player or recorder on the device.

I want an Ethernet connection so I can transfer films from PC to device and vice versa without having to move it.
Don't need a DVD player/recorder in the device as I already have a decent DVD player, and can record on my PC if I need too.

Something like the Argosys device on ibood today would be good if you could record onto it. (and it had ethernet!)

    Many Thanks

This is almost exactly what I'm looking for, Closest I've found is a box in maplins that has built in satellite decoders (with cam slots - will take sky although they don't advertise as such, don't know about NTL), a hard drive to record to & Ethernet - although not wireless (I'm guessing if you plugged in a wireless hub, it could be configured to a wireless network), AFAIKR it also had a DVD burner for archiving. The price was a whopping €800 & unfortunately I can't remember the brand, topdeck or something similar, still trying to decide if it's worth it...

I'm looking for the same as you but (1) Wireless & (2) with DVD recorder & (3) capable of media streaming from the PC. I don't think I'm going to find it though (at least affordable)
