    Heyall,

I see multiple threads concerning foreign dentists posted here, but no clear advice or recommendations on places to go...

I need a single implant and I'm willing to fly to get it done if the price is right - and obviously a good dentist into the bargain!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

I'm in the process of getting implant work done at the moment. I've already had 3 seperate visits to the dentist for consultations and mouldings etc. It'll take at least 3 more visits (over the next few months) if not more. It can't be rushed and i think you would be much better off paying to have it done in Ireland, even if it is more expensive.

It can't be done properly in one visit, so even the expense of flying over and back to a foreign country will add up. Plus from a personal point of view i'd feel more comfortable getting it done in Ireland where you know your rights etc.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I think you are crazy to go abroad.

I've had two implants put in the last 12 months and no way in hell would I like to have been in a foreign hotel if things went badly or if there was problems.

Apart from that if its done here you can get up to 40% of it back by claiming tax credit on a med 2 form.

Its a pretty big thing to have done in your mouth and imho not something to be done on the cheap.
