Zimbabwe has the lowest life expentency in the world now. Anywhere that beats the likes of Eritrea or Liberia is clearly hell in what should be Southern African heaven.

    Terrible pity.. lovely country.

As someone who spent "a few hours" in Harare Central. I sympathise with anyone trying to effect change.

Bump! Just listening to a BBC radio report. It gets worse. Power now cut to 4 hours a day as fuel is concerved for harvesting as food shortages grow, 2000% inflation! 50,000 refugees turfed out of South Africa in the last year so goodness know how may are in that country. Meanwhile Thabo Mbeki
    looks the other way.

    Mike.

Yeh the economic statistics on that place are incredible. As bad as inflation is now, the IMF predict it to get up to 5,000% by the end of the year.

I can't understand why the neighbouring leaders are not doing more, nor why the Zimbabweans themselves are not. I thought the trouble with regard to the opposition leader last month would have caused a rebellious swing, but it looks otherwise.

Economically, things have hit rock bottom, there's only so much worse it can go before something kicks off.

There was a frightening fly on the wall documentary on channel 4 earlier. The country reaches new lows every week and month it seems.

The prices of basic commodities increase 6 fold every 2 months. 1.3 million children have aids which makes it no surprise that the country has the lowest life expectancy in the world. Anyone who questions the government is dealt with by the police, members of the opposition are abducted daily.

I mean what can this mad man be thinking? Surely its high time for some intervention. We cant just turn a blind eye anymore.

The rapid descent from one of africas powerhouses to arguably the most corrupted state worldwide has been frightening and now it must be time to act.
