I'm guessing there's no guarantee of a ticket for this event?

Witht he match on telly, what numbers are you expecting?

Rob!! If you get to the last two // headsup - fold everytime you get a premium pair as they are so obviously cursed for you in such situations.

    Hi Ollie,

Still expecting a good crowd even with the match......We've had a half dozen or so qualifiers and should get a good few people buying in for the 220.....

The match will be shown too......8:30pm sharp.....Cheers

Ul Smurph, this was an excellent structure for a 200 event well done ste, think i went out in 8th myself from having 3k from 14 players out to having 19k and nearly 40+ only your darling husband paired the board after all in and call with my AK against his AQ :( ah well cant complain river could have been a q:)

Will donate again in the future but some sleep is required, good to meet with other boardies bottom feeder, pokerscene, ocall, NFR, kincsem

    Hi all,

Thanks very much for making the trip out to Malahide for this.......Its the type of structure that needs at least two tables to make it a good tournament......We're probably going to alter the structure next week to make it a cheaper buy-in......Don't know if anyone has any opinions on this???

Anyway here's my summary of proceedings, it reads a bit like the racing form so sorry in advance to players.........

1st = Alan Fitzpatrick (18 yo player) cashed high up in the recent student championship event when outdrawn with aces and is a very talented player.

1st = Keith O'Brien - Also very good player and one of the Island Poker crew that helped us a lot promoting the tournament.

3rd Smurph - The biggest banker in the tournament to finish in the top three, played really well as always but when it got to three out was the short stack.

4th Martin O'Rafferty (Mr. Smurph) - Also played really well, had a big stack early on but was yo yoing in the final stages.

5th Niall O'Callaghan - Again another banker to go deep in a tournament like this but Niall didn't repeat last week's performance this time around.

6th Wes O'Farrell - Played good solid patient poker and gutted a couple of players when he hit big flops....Just didn't happen for Wes last night.

7th Seán Kilroy - Seán was short stacked when he was outdrawn to go out in 7th but played really well all night too.

8th Fran Egan - Fran is a mad man, but a really good player.......Its the first time I've seen Fran play and he's not afraid to ship it and plays a very aggressive game.

9th Paul Byrne - It was my first time to see Paul play too but he laid down aces early on in the tournament in a big pot with chips committed (it was the right fold).......Very impressed.

10th Gary Byrne - Again it was my first time to see Gary play, very nice guy and I'm sure he'll get a ticket into the Open as he's well able to play.

Thanks to all who played, hope to see you again in Malahide next Wednesday.
We're in Sligo this Sunday, Adelaide Casino, 6pm start for anyone that might want a little break from the city and a good game of poker.

Was a great tourny again and good to meet more boardsters.

Had a horrific night of cards, I played about 10 hands. Had one double up and then survived till the blinds were sufficiently high to go into push mode. It's not a pretty way to play a tournament but I was so card dead all night! I wasn't looking for AA, just something like TJ on button.

I'll be back next week. I really like the setup there, very comfortable, good tables and staff were great.

I beg to differ firstly i have been proven "medically" that i am not mad just a bit lets says "weird at times".

    Hi carfax

I was the one multitabling live in the 2 super satelite's before hand!!

There is nothing like playing on 2 tables at once to make me realise just how bad I really am!!!!

Anyway well done Alan and Keith great result.

Conor if the had 4 tables going i think you would have chanced your arm and try and multi table the lot.

i also played this, came 13th.

nice club, good little set up they have down there.
well run as u would expect from stephen and derek.
and great structure in the tourney, modelled on the irish open itself, tons of play.

its a good idea to lower the buy in, which i believe they are going to do, id play it again, they should get more runners next week, and it would be worth a spin out there.
