    Three low-stakes STT hands, three overpairs on drawy boards - all advice appreciated...

    They could all be obvious but I'm never feel all that sure of what I'm doing with overpairs so just thought I'd throw 'em out there...

    Hand 1

    9-handed. Average stack around 2k – I’m UTG on 1740, UTG+1 has 1860 and MP is chip leader with 3.5k.

    Blinds 30/60.

    Dealt to Hero [ Kc Ks ]

    Hero raises to 200
    UTG+1 calls 200
    MP calls 200

    Pot = 690

    ** Dealing Flop ** [ 3s, 9c, Js ]

    I lead out for 400, UTG+1 folds, MP min-raises to 800.

    I re-raise all in for 740 more, he calls with AdJd and hits trips on the river to send me packing.

    Hand 2

    8-handed. Average stack 2.5k – I’m CO with 1400, SB has 2300.

    Blinds 30/60.

    Dealt to Hero [ Jd Jc ]

    Folded to me, I make it 200.
    SB calls.

    Pot = 460

    ** Dealing Flop ** [ 4d, Tc, 2c ]

    SB leads for 120, I move all-in for 1090 more. He calls with KdTd, turn comes a King, river a 10 and he kills me.

    Hand 3

    10-handed. Average stack 2k – it’s the second hand and everyone’s pretty much even. I’m in middle position.

    Blinds 20/40.

    Dealt to Hero [ Tc Td ]

    MP limps.
    Hero makes it 150.
    SB calls.
    BB folds.
    MP calls.

    Pot = 490

    ** Dealing Flop ** [ 8s, 9s, 5h ]

    SB checks, MP bets 160. I raise to 380 and they both call.

    Pot = 1630

    Turn comes 3s.

    SB checks, MP is all-in for 1470. I fold, SB calls with a king-high flush. MP tables Qc10h to lose miserably.

    So how’d I do?

    Hands 1 and 2 you played alrite just got unlucky really. You could maybe raise a bit more pf but you got your chips in well ahead which is all you can do

    Hand 1 and 2 belong in the bad beat thread and I think you know that :lol

    Hand 3 raise the flop more, was a very poor bet you are basically minraising and its giving the price for the players in the hand to hit their draw.

    Hand 1:Ok, I'd lead out after the flop with a little more, unlucky, but you'll win this alot more than you will lose.

    Hand 2: Ok, again, he got lucky.

    Hand 3: Raise more preflop, raise way more postflop as the board is draw heavy.

    its important not to be results orientated in poker.it really only serves to hinder your development in the game as you focus on the fact that you lost the pot rather than the fact you played the hand right.

    hands 1 and 2 are just variance kicking you in the groin.
