    Hi,

This new product Photo Safe from Digital Foci seems like a cheap way to provide additional capacity on those longer photo shoots. The fact that it runs on batteries makes it very flexible. Should save on having to purchase additional memory cards.

    What do you think?

if you are going for portabe storage go for the Nexto CF, its a bit more expensive but not too much + you can put in whatever size HD you want i.e. 120 GB + and the speed of it is unreal

I concur. It is however a damnsight cheaper than the likes of an Epson P whatever

I got an Epson P-3000 and think its invaluable for long shoots or all day events. Very handy and long battery life, also the screen is superb and the ability to view RAW files at 100% was the killer for me. The other storage solutions look pretty good too. Very handy being able to put your own 2.5" drive in, will a 7200rpm drive make a difference?

I'd say marginal at best in terms of speed, but may have a detrimental effect on battery life (these opinions are just instinct, so if anybody can say for sure otherwise - fire away!)

Creative's 60GB version of the Vision M now has a USB Host function. (i.e. connect camera directly to the player and transfer over pic's to device)

Be careful when you buy a media player for storage ,they can be very slow if they are not dedicated for photo's. They might damage Raw image files aswell.

that'd be handy at least you could listen to the radio too :)

i suppose the ability to view the RAWs would be a big advantage but then you'd need to be taking hundreds of shots to justify that outlay? unless of course you were loaded ;)
