I'm doing a history essay on backbenchers from the Sligo-Leitrim constituency in the eighth dail atm. One of them is saying quite a bit, which is good, but in the previous dáil he held the position of secretary to the minister for fisheries. Now we were told not to really comment on ministers or their counterparts in the…

I'm doing a history essay on backbenchers from the Sligo-Leitrim constituency in the eighth dail atm. One of them is saying quite a bit, which is good, but in the previous dáil he held the position of secretary to the minister for fisheries. Now we were told not to really comment on ministers or their counterparts in the opposition, is this secretary position a fairly high up position?
