internet explorer problem

there appears to be a prob with my internet explorer..anytime i log onto intenet it starts crashing and the security settings are all messed up what do i need to do...i keep getting the end now task prompt...is mozilla a better option i cannot get onto internet to get this...do i need explorer for this also im very confused...have viruses on computer also but cant fix these until my interent explorer is sorted..having a bad day

I installed IE 7 and now evertime I open IE I get the configuration page,
http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx
Well it tries to open it but just get a blue page instead of my home page.

Not a major problem but a little annoying... Any idea?

Can you not just change your homepage?

Have a look at the little "Black, down arrow" next to the home icon (you know the little icon of the house)

I also have this problem (in work). Just get a blue page and need to click "Home" everytime I open IE... I think it's because the proxy here is blocking the site IE wants to visit for settings configuration (Phishing, Customer Feedback Program, Other MS Cr@p Like Taht, etc). Haven't found a workaround yet (appart from using FireFox)...

To be honest I would just format PC at that stage and get proper Anti-Virus, Firewall and Anti-Spyware/Malware software... I use AVG Free, Comodo Firewal, Ad-Aware SE, Spybot S&D and Spyware Blaster. Update and run programs as often as possible and there's a good chance your PC won't encounter these kind of problems in the furture.

Managed to fix this at last!

- Close all IE windows
- Open a Text File (Notepad)
- Write the following in this text file:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"RunOnceComplete"=dword:00000001
"RunOnceHasShown"=dword:00000001

- Save this as "RunOnceHasShown.reg"
- Double click on the file you have just created
- Open IE7 and voilà!
