Hi all was just wondering is ther an integrated MP3 player come library software akin to picasa for pictures that will check my mp3 folder on every use for newly added songs.

Am currently using Winamp and Itunes for my playback but have to add new songs manually everytime and keep getting duplicates of the same tracks

Any and all help gratefully recieved

Hey bud, winamp has an option to monitor folders. I stoped using it a while ago so I can't remember exactly where it is, but its in the preferences somewhere.

Also a fantastic programme called "MediaMonkey" can "re scan music directory" which in effect does what you want.

Foobar can do it if you have columns_ui and the component pack for it. It takes a bit of time and work to configure it though.

I haven't used foobar in a looooong time, what DAPs can it manage? I really can't remember.

iPods I think. I don't really know, the two DAPs in the house are an iRiver H340 and an iAudio X5 neither of which need anything to manage them bar Windows Explorer so I've never really looked into it.

Yeah, makes sense, they're both UMS. As is the ipod technically, but it uses a specific file sorting to arrange its files.
