problem with sites that use flash & macromedia

    Hi whener i try and view a site that requires flash (youtube) i get a message saying that flash is not installed i follow the link to the adobe site. but when i click install it does nothing and the video pops up to say that flash is installed successfuly. needless to say when i return to youtube the problem persists. is there anyway of completely removing flash and reinstalling it .

    any help appreciated its doining my nut in

    Is this with Firefox? There is a flash plugin uninstaller here.

    i remember having that problem ages ago, dont know why,and cant remember how i fixed it.think all i did was change from IE to Firefox and it worked.

    i still want to use IE not a big fan of firefox or netscape

    Uninstall first, using Add/Remove in the control panel, and then re-install.It worked for me about 2 weeks ago!

    Also , try downloading a redistributable version of macromedia flash player and installing it that way instead of direct from adobe website . Worked for me more than once

    Is this a shockwave player or flash player. There is a problem if you are using a limited (user) account on a windows machine that it wont let you view shockwave even though it is installed. You have to be logged on as an administrator or whatever.

    make sure you arent logged in under a limited account and check that. If you go to users in the control panel you can check.

    Not sure if this is your exact problem but worth checking.
