Is there a way (I'm guessing no) to reduce the maximum bid you have set on an auction?

say if you bid for something thats currently €10 and set your maximum bid to €100, why does ebay not let you reduce this to a different figure as long as its above the current bid? It's not like your retracting your bid, just redcing the amount your willing to bid?

You can retract the bid and then place a new lower one I guess. Does putting in a new, lower, bid not work then? Never tried it.
