Is it true that if your company uses ilegal software that the company director can face heavy fines?

We do company audits every year but not it seems that the boss wants an independent audit.

We are all legit but what happens if some one makes a phone call to say mircosoft that there is dodgy copes of windows on pcs? Do they get a reward or something?

theres a few grand of a reward in it for the squealer, upon a successful conviction as far as i know....

The MD or whoever the top dog is takes the bullet if illegal software is found.....but he'd be taking a few with him on the way down methinks..:D

In fairness, if the company is seen to be trying its best, nobody's really going to try and screw them in court, the software company will just look for licence fees. Makes everybody look bad when people are doing their best and a big company comes down on them.
