    Guys

fitted a new cpu cooler, which initially seemed to have skinned 10c off my average temps.

    Before, idle 52c to 54c, load 62c to 65c

    Prescott 3.2

Now new cooler is idling at 45 to 48c, and up to 61c under load.

Shoudl i consider removing new cooler and re-applying the thermal stuff or is this what i should expect.

    Cooler is Akasa Evo Blue

    I have 3 x 120mm , one front intake, 1 rear out, 1 side in.

    Any advice appreciated.

Well the board could be misreporting the temp it does happen though Prescott's are very toasty CPU's to begin with.

Try updating the bios of the board.

Scythe Infinity may be a better choice in getting the temps down.
