    how can you tell?
bear in mind that i confused my camera on a couple of occasions by throwing photos taken on a different camera onto it, it confused the file naming at the very least.

if it's not in the Filename it prob in the EXIF data or even in the camera menu's

Just stuck up some info for my CanonA620 with a measley 1200 frames even though it dose not have a shutter to actuate.

Going to stick up my E1 and E300 stats a bit later.

I use a program called cancount that tells me the amount off shutter counts on my 1d mII. As far as I ware there are no programs available for download that can be used to count the shutter cycles on the 10d, 20d, 30d, 300d, 350d, 400d etc.

    I'm on 27,000 with my 5D...

    Since November...

But a fair bit of that was involved in some stop motion work...

How would I check on my Olympus E1?
it's a bit tricky but follow the instructions and it should work.

    0.Turn the camera on
    1.Open memory card CF door
2.press 'play' and 'ok' button at the same time and then release them
3.then on the 4 button keypad press 'up' 'down' 'left' 'right' press the shutter
button and then the 'up' button again.
    4. Now press RIGHT and you should see something like this
    PAGE 2
    R 00009011
    S 00000651
    M 00000004
    U 00001402

R = shutter releases and as you can see I only got 9k clocked up

it's the same of all olympus DSLR's
