    Hey all,

Anyone ever ship their personal belongings home after a year in Australia? I have a laptop, an external hard drive and a various books, clothes that I don't fancy lugging around NZ and Asia when we leave Australia in June. I would really appreciate any advice on this.

    Thanks :)

Was in a similar situation a few years ago.
I ended up shipping the non-valuable items home using
standard post - including a surf board which they were reluctant to take.
It took 3 months sea post but not too expensive.
The valuable items (like laptop) I took with me to asia, with the intention
of leaving in a secure left luggage place.
The only left lugagge I could find in Singapore was in one of the
train stations and it was very much unsecure.
I left my laptop there anyway, and to my surprise it was there
when I returned a month later. I just walked in and took it,
as I couldn't find anyone to ask. - top security :)
My Friends had some belongings stolen from left luggage in Thailand,
    so it's risky.
