Investments with good prospects long term

When I buy something, I like to think I'm Warren Buffet (I put on my slippers) and think that I will never sell the investment. It's a good discipline that stops me from getting involved in get rich schemes and overly speculative investments.

With that in mind, anyone like to suggest some areas which are worthy of investigation for long term holding?

Currently I hold or am considering investing in:
- Some crops that can be used in biofuels
- Oil
- Water ETF
- Travel companies specialising in "adventure" travel
- "Big oil" companies with strong alternative energy investments
- China
- Argentina
- Eastern Europe (excluding Russia)
- France (Sarkozy for president!)

Any other ideas?

I think somebody else mentioned uranium recently which looks interesting.

The thing about most of that list though is that they attract speculators so if you're still in when they bail out, you might not be able to recover any losses even in the long term. For example the current price of gold is nowhere historic highs if you adjust for inflation.
