God I used to love that show. Don't think I ever watched a full programme though, don't remember ever being committed enough to get up at 6am to catch the start. Still though, back around 92/93 it was always stopping me from getting ready for school in the mornings. I can only barely remember it, yet it strangely sticks out.

hahaha. I remember this. Sitting in the living room before school watching Mrs Pepperpot, which was always on as I was leaving for some reason.

I really did think that DJ Kat was cool.

DJ was the man. I tried to see if any of my friends remembered him recently and sadly I was the only one. I'd say DJ the Kat had many a child late fro scholl during the 90's.

It was on Sky Channel in the 80s when they did a lot of their broadcasts from Holland from what I remember. Linda de Mol used to co-present it.

He underwent a makeover then in the late 80s/early 90s where he was (literally) cleaned up, new voice (or at least a different accent) and the show became more PC - think this was about the same time BSkyB was born (1989/1990).

Fun Factory was great too. Sky had all the good cartoons in those days as well!

Didn't he hate cartoons? Always thought it was a rather strange career choice.

Ahh yes, becoming clearer. Was he on a pepsi chart show with some fella with a huuuge mullet. Same guy I think that did the fun factory.

Remember the competition Risk a Crisp where you sent in a crisp in the post and if it wasnt broken you won a prize

Yeah I remember 'Risk a Crisp'

I sent in one of them American Cruncero crisps (Hotdog flavour) they were virtually indestructible. I never watched the show after to see if I won anything.

I remember the Blonde Dutch Girl and I remember being heartbroken when she was replaced by some guy called Andy who had a huge nose and could never pronounce Ireland always said it Eye-Land.

One of the cartoons was Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors but thats not the cartoon I used to watch it was the one after it I used to watch religiously but I just can't remember its name or what it was about Ha Ha! Stupid Brain.

It wasn't M.A.S.K. by any chance? That show was a religion for many a young lad back in the day.

pfft.. Transformers was sooo much better! :D

Tho I did have the chopper/jet and car/jet that both the leaders had, as well as the Nissan 200zx/jet (hmm.. there were a lot of aircraft in that show! :)) and the F1 car from the later seasons, that split in 3

Transformers was still better though. Had LOADS of those!

Funnily enough I never had any of the MASK toys and the closest I came to having a Transformer was getting a Mini- GoBot from Santa in Cleary's.

Starcom and Action Force and Star Wars were more my bag, baby :)

I looked up DJ Kat on Wiki and found out that Linda De Mol got her slot on the show because her brother was the producer.

He later went on to form the Dutch TV Company; Endemol

Endemol are the guys responsible for Big Brother....so in a perverse indirect way DJ Kat is responsible for the spawning of Jade Goody :O

    The Horror.....the horror...

I used to watch this cos the Transformers cartoon was on it. Was Gobots on it as well or was that Wacaday?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 670 ✭✭✭Hard Larry

Yep Gobots was on Wacaday alright, I remember a cartoon on that called Jem about a female Glam Rock band and they had the Harlem Globetrotters and a cartoon with all the Wrestlers in it too.
