Superb pic leinsterman! Is that the pope's cross in the Phoenix Park? Nearly got the bike and camera out to ride around the park and see if I could find somebody with a tripod I could borrow (sold mine a few ago - gutted). In the end, was too lazy and just watched some TV instead...

That's very nice Latchiko, any with the full eclipse?

Thanks davyjose! Unfortunately I didn't get to stick around for the total eclipse. As the moon moved across the sky it was about to pass behind some trees so that was my only chance to get the shot!

    Thanks leinsterman! :)

I actually passed the statue as I was driving out of the city because I thought it would be easier to take photographs without street lights around. When I saw the statue pointing at the moon I decided to stick around and wait until the eclipse. So it was luck really and not as thought out as it looks! ;)

I got my 10m usb cable out and put my camera on a tripod on the balcony and took pictures from the pc. I know lazy Sh**e. I hadnt done it before. My poor tripod from Argos strained under the weight of my 20d with a 70-200 f2.8 and a 1.4x TC. Best get another one. First one is a heavy crop from the 70-200 and the second one is from an 85mm f1.8(this gave better results probably from being lighter on tripod and a prime) The one with the cross is excellent definitely for the papers.

Late in the day, but here's mine:

    with this taken before totality:

I found totality very difficult to shoot - I had a 2x teleconverter for the partial eclipse, but for the full eclipse this lost so much light that I needed 3-4 second exposures, and the moon was moving far too fast for that to work.
