Its on down in carlow next week. There is the fitzgibon cup which has a cracker in the semi's lit against ul, davie fitz's lit will be up for it canning is on fire for them. I can see it being an lit dit final. limerick shading it.

The rayn cup will be hotly contested i fancy dcu.

The fergal marr will also have a cracking match tallaght it against letterkenny it. I fancy tallaght for this they are very strong in the other semi kings inn(last years winners) should beat the english team. If its a tallaght kings inn final it'll be a cracker both last years finalists. Went to extra time where kings inn shaded it by a point.

Agree with you there anxious, LIT look to be odds-on favourites to win it out. Not alone do they have Joe Canning, but they also have Iarla Tannion (new Galway senior player), Niall healy, Jackie Tyrell (KK captain last year) and a host of other top level inter-county players.

On the other side I'd like to see NUIG get to the final - they have a few good Galway players on the team who could develop into good seniors in the future - John Lee being a prime example.

Who are DIT playing in the other semi final?

Its an another boost for dublin hurling with four dublin lads on the panel and the attack spearheaded by kev o'reilly.

NUIG beat DIT, 1-11 to 2-5

    Result: LIT 2-15 NUIG 0-13.

As the bookies were saying, LIT won but if NUIG had taken some more of their chances (especially in the 1st half) there would have been nothing in it for the last few minutes of the game.

Have to say John Lee was definatly man of the match - he was the only NUIG player who consistently played well today. A lot of people will say Joe Canning should have got the award but he had most of his scores from frees or from expert ball delievered from the half-backs.

I thought Darragh Egan had a poor game by his standards - maybe nerves on the day or the fact that the ball wasn't coming into him that much

LIT definatly deserved the win - anyone know how many players they will be loosing next year??

The whole weekend was a great sucess, i went to the final what we're both the goal keepers playing at i felt they both should have been sent off. Joe canning is looking about 2 or 3 stone over weight very sluggish.

Saw him training in UL about 3-4 weeks back
The lad looks like a dodgy rugby player not a hurler
Is he going to be yet another amazing underage prodigy that ends up nowhere?
    Lets hope not

sure, he's not really studying in LIT

    just drinking and training

and getting paid to be there

Was discussing this with a mate last week and just wanted to to know if anyone knows how many actual Limerick players played with either UL or LIT this year? Afaik, only a handful were spread out over both panels, seems the decline of Limerick hurling continues...

Well, for LIT Maurice O'Brien was the only LImerick man on the starting 15 (as far as I know) - couldn't tell you about UL

UL would have had Hickey, who's played senior last year, but he got injured, but I can't think of anyone else breaking through. Not a good sign for the immediate future.
