OK, so I wasn't sure as to WHERE this should be posted.... SO I just thought I'd stick it in the general science area....

    But yeah...

I received an email today... About how a new dinosaur was discovered. Well the bones were discovered about 6 years ago. But I guess with all the research and whatnot, it was only revealed now.....

Here's a linky for yee..... And there was something about it being a missing link in the evolution of some dinos ;)

    Enjoy....

Click here for the new Dino ;)

as heavy as a half-ton pickup
Dinosaur weights vary by a factor of two depending on who you believe - depending on how you flesh out the bones. Even today most birds are lighter by volume than mammals. Just compare a swan / duck / most water birds floating on the water with mammals and penguins swimming in it.

    anyway

    Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)
    1500 Series (“half-ton” models) 2767 - 3175 kg (6100 - 7000 lb.)
    1500HD Series (“heavy-duty half-ton” models) 3900kg (8600 lb.)

Note there is an 8500 lb. limit on US Corporate Average Fuel Economy regulations. so the "heavy-duty" model is just "heavy"

    sorry - too much TCN
and that reference to a half ton truck piqued my curiousity
why can't journalists just quote weights ?

Anyway our creationist friends would soon put you right on all that missing link nonsense ;)http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs/3927.asp

I read one recently in describing the weight of a remote control plane they said it weighed less than an ounce of paper..... I'd imagine that it also weighs less than an ounce of lead.
