Im looking for new memory for my computer.
Ive just checked what kind of memory my computer is currently running and it is "DDR2 infineon 1024Mbytes PC2-3200(200Mhz)"

    I just searched ebay and I found the following memory "DDR2 Infineon 1GB PC2-6400 800MHz ".

If I was to purchase the memory from ebay, would it work on my computer even though its PC2-6400 and 800Mhz?

It should drop down to the slowest speed your motherboard can support. It will also drop it's speed to match the speed of the slowest RAM module installed. So if you have one 3200 and one 6400 they will both run at the speed of 3200.

You should try looking on www.memoryc.com (irish company) or www.crucial.com for RAM

^^alright thanks. Also,if I have 4 slots for ram and only one is used(ram manufactured by infineon),can I purchase ram from a different manufacturer and slot it into any of the three remaining slots provided it is ddr2?

It's rare that you have to stick to a certain manufacturer. 99.9% of the time RAM from any manufacturer will work fine, as long as it meets your motherboard requirements.

You should go to the manufacturers website, I'm sure there will be a compatability list there.

www.shop4memory.com is a good website for ALL types of memory. If your PC is a well known make, ie, Dell or HP etc, there is a memory configuration tool on the site which will direct you to the exact memory for your particular make/model PC.

they do free P&P within Ireland
