Im going to Dubai in May for 6 nights. Im hoping to do it as cheap as possible. Anyone know of any good value fairly cheap hotels. Ive read reviews on some of the cheaper hotels & everyone seems to say "stay away" from the cheaper ones.

regarding of cheap hotels, there are a lot, you can find them near Al Ghurair Mall, Deira City, 5-10 minutes going to Dubai City Center...lots of cheap hotels starting from 150dhs to 400 dhs, say $50 more or less...but the quality,is not good at all....i suggest find a place near Al Garhoud, you find decent rooms with reasonable prices....hope this helps..goodluck!

First off Dubai in May is HOT - TOO HOT. Unless you are really used to hot destinations - 35cel and over - its not a great time to visit the place. You'll find yourself stuck inside the whole time where the air con is cold as fridges.

The good thing is hotels tend to do deals at this time of year due to the extremely hot weather. Best bet is to contact them directly and see - but probably wait till closer the time - dont worry it wont be as busy at that time of year.

Depending on your money check out the Mina Seyahi or Oasis beach - I stayed in the Mina - great hotel and you could get a deal. The Oasis is considered the cheapest of the beach hotels; but steer clear of the really cheap hotels if you dont want to be sharing public areas with the biggest concentration of prostitutes youll ever see.

If you are going to dubai you may as well try and stay in one of the better hotels - after all they're what Dubai is famous for and you might get a deal.

Dubai is a place you just gotta live it up. Spend the cash and it'll be more worth it than if you don't - if you see what I mean. I'm going back in May or June myself (been 2wice in the last yr, and i am not wealthy but it's just so awesome). I'll be staying in the Radisson SAS (formerly intercontinental) on the creek. Nice area, if a little out from the beach. Near the airport (aer lingus staff stay here). It' not too expensive though.
