This Viewsonic LCD 19" Widescreen monitor has the following specs:
    # Response Time: 5ms
    # Contrast Ratio: 700:1
    # Brightness: 280cd/m2
    # Resolution: 1440 x 900
    # Viewing Angle: 160 H / 160 V
    # Aspect Ratio: 16:10
    # Dual integrated stereo speakers
    # Connectivity: 15-pin mini D-sub/DVI-D

Is it a good deal for $290 (Cdn.)? My CRT monitor is giving me headaches! ;)

It really kinda comes down to,

what your going use it for?
    Do you already have speakers?
and do you have a DVI slot on your motherboard/graphics card!

    This costs 270 deliverd!

Well, I spend a lot of time on my computer, mainly surfing, although I do play games fairly often. This has speakers already included. I am a little biased towards Viewsonic, so I don't think I want to consider another make. I figured that the 5ms rate is pretty good, and so is the resolution? :)

I'd be with DeafVision on the Samsung they do make good screens. It does depend alot on your video card, the rule of thumb I think is your card and monitor should cost much the same if your that way minded. I'm not much for the integrated speakers but the other specs look ok

Yea the ms rate is fine and so is the res.. just if you have speakers already try get one that doesn't on the monitor save yourself a bit of money!

The user reviews which on Newegg is about all I can find on the Viewsonic VA1912Wb are largely positive so it seems decent enough.

Thanks for all your opinions. I bought it on Saturday, and I like it! I am amazed at the picture difference between this and my old CRT monitor. I am using my old speakers though. They are pretty good, and MUCH better than the tinny ones on the display. :D
