i think thats the biggest headline, anyway stuff happened somewhere today about the league and monies and tv games.
    Full schedule announced so far

League of Ireland live TV schedule

    Setanta Sports Cup
    Feb 26 Drogheda v Linfield
    Mar 5 Linfield v Glentoran
Mar 12 Cork City v St Patrick's Athletic
    More to be announced
    All on Setanta Sports

    Eircom League Of Ireland
Mar 9 Bohemians v Drogheda Utd RTE 2
Mar 16 Cork City v Galway Utd RTE 2
Mar 23 Derry City v St Patrick's Athletic RTE 2 there be about 3 pats fans at this now :D
    Mar 30 Drogheda U v Derry C Setanta Sports
Apr 9 Derry City v Cork City Setanta Sports

Now i find that odd both our 2 furthest games are on tv. Loads of games on tv more than ever (all the best will have pats in them).

So why let Tv3 do the highlights on a tuesday morning? Fans want goals and preferably not in the Bosco studio by 2 ex players incapable of public speaking.

Beside all that FAI poop, league starts next week :D:D:D

I would guess that the TV aspect to it, and the prizemoney aspect to it, were ALL that was "confirmed" / "announced" / trumpeted. Cosmetic changes being constantly repeated to the point of meaninglessness aren't going to change the league forever.

I know RTE want to show the games that will get the most viewers but I cant remember the kast time Bray were on TV. Every team in the league should be on TV at least once over the season I think.

Despite all the doom and gloom around my club , I must say I am looking forward to this season immensely , Will Bohs and their spoofer boss be able to take Shels place as one of the "Big 4" , Pats have improved too so the league is wide open in my opinion , I still think Derry City are the most likely to win unless Cork City can get Healy and Farrelly playing and on form cos if they can they have a great midfield which would help them a lot.

I would agree that, ideally, every team in the league should get television coverage, especially when you see club GAA and schools rugby games with 45 people watching being covered also.
But, while 50 games is a massive improvement, I think the most attractive fixtures should be cherry-picked for a TV audience. There are too many people happy to leap to the conclusion, on the thinnest evidence, that Irish football is rubbish. Airing First Division games will just reinforce that prejudice.
