Those mega ultra servers would make no difference at all, it's the boards.ie server causing the problem. Unless those servers were on the same network....

We've not installed the new servers yet - we just tweaked the network a little during the move.

New servers come next, which allow us to provide things like the archive, search and other fun stuff back.

well he is from cork.
Its widely known that due to various socio-economic conditions, widespread Tumorsyphilisitisosis and bad GAA teams that all Cork people are nowhere near as smart as they think they are.

Also boards is still the same speed.

Still having some occasional issues - for instance my first reply to this doesn't seem to have gone through at all.

Waiting to see what it will be like on Monday lunchtime, but its nice to see everything zipping along like Speedy Gonzalez on crack for the time being anyway. Be something to see when the new hardware goes in, pages will be loading before they're requested

It was slow as Christmas from at least 4pm-8.30pm, so much so that I couldn't load it. It seems alright now, not exceptionally fast or anything.

Dog slow earlier but getting page generates in < 2 seconds consistently just now...so at least a tenfold improvement.

is good but the pages are'nt loading fully for me (opera) they 'hang' on icons/graphics. Usable then but annoying.
