Checking the turn

With a lock hand in cash games, do I need to be checking a turn against very tight villains if they have raised pre-flop, to ensure winning a small bet on the river. Is this standard?

Or is this results based thinking. I.e., you hit a set, started putting money into the pot, villain folded, unlucky....

    For example:

    1/3 PLHE

    Hand 1:
    effective stacks 200.

Villain is tight, and playing scared money, so a raise means pocket pair or AQ+.

I call a 15e preflop raise with 7h7s, 2 to the flop, and hit my set on a board of:

    7d 9c Kc.

Villain pots, I ponder [ponderously] and call.

Turn, I am first to act, and bet 50. Opponent folds.

    Hand 2:
    effective stacks 260.

    Villain is a rock.

I call a 20e preflop raise with QQ, and hit my set on a board of:

    Q 9 7 rainbow.

Villain pots, I ponder [ponderously] and call.

Turn a black, I lead for 50, villain folds, showing JJ.

doesn't matter what u did here. villains weren't puttin in any more $$ with their hands.

check/calling would prob be better tho, not a big deal.
