Wide angle lense

right so,i have a big shoot coming up soon for my degree show but i have a problem.
I need to get my hands on a wide angle lense for my Nikon d70's but the thing is this shoot is costing alot to set up as is and spending another 300+ hundred is gonna be tough.
So firstly,i know this is a long shot but anyone interested in "renting" one to me ?
I forgot to mention that professional photographer Michael Kay and head of media in NCAD and photographer Anthony Hobbs are going to be working with me on this shoot as it is extremly technical.
Obviously any damage would be paid for in full and deposit etc would be sorted and I would pay by the day.
Next idea is does anyone know what the cheapest one i can get? ive been searching but cant find anything!

Thanks for any help you can offer

have a look around for a second hand Sigma 10-20. Don't know what the secondhand market is like for them but you might get lucky.

yeah i have been, cant see 2 see many!
guess people dont bother tradeing them in,thats why im hopeing someone has one sitting at home that they rarely use and wouldnt mind giving up for a decent price or renting (and yes i know people dont rent camera equipment but a guy can hope)

you can rent from conns, you pay about 10% of the price of the lens so a €500 lens becomes about €50

    is that per day?
doesnt matter really, still work out alot cheaper!

Can you take 2 pictures and stitch them together to get the same result? I do that when I need a wide view.

Only wondering, I was going to get the Sigma 10-20 but instead got the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for the same money. Far more useful and if I need something wider I use stitcher pro to make it.

Try selling a few prints and raise the cash. Shouldnt be to hard to raise 300 for a lens.

See my problem is,at the moment i am going to be using 7 models,2 assistants(who all have to be fed and watered), on top of turning a studio into a functioning living room(loads of props)
Where i will then need to shoot for approx 2-3 days with everyone and then print out aprox 20-40 A1's and put a book together as well...

So i kinda need to try and save where possable, money isnt that much of an issue for me normally but this is costing me a hell of a lot and i am trying to keep costs down as i cant scrimp on the other stuff

I also dont want 2 stitch phots together because of the time it would take to do so many ontop of the photoshopping I have to do!

But renting from Conns should cost less than 100 anyway ,still saving 200 which can go 2 better use even though i would love to just buy one and usually would

(that 200 can go to me getting well rat arsed after eachday as i say i am going to need it :D )

Shane, chances are that Mike Kay has one, he has a fair Nikon stock as far as I know.

How wide are you going for, and when ye getting yer stuff ready?

im shooting Tuesday(19th?) the day after the long weekend.
Mike doesnt have his as he sent it away for cleaning/fixing and doesnt expect to have it back in time!
I still gotta check with Anthony

Im looking for something like the sigma 10-20.
Im turning the photography studion into a working room been honest, everything is been taken out and the windows/fireplaces will all be used! so I need a lense that can capture as much as possableand my 18-70 wont cut it i think
