Inspiron 9400 Problem

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 9400 and I am having a few problems with it now.

It's only about 3 months old and since about 3 weeks ago, every time I try to shut the system down I have to click through about 10 - 15 "End Program" windows. Some of these are "MCI Command Handling", "MB Dummy Window" and so on and so forth.

    Two questions for you guys.

    1) Does anyone know what the story is there and is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?

    2) Why are Dell going to charge me €50.82 to fix this problem over the phone when it is still under warranty?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Dell were going to charge you because its a software issue not covered under their warranty - which only covers hardware failures.
As for the errors it appears its being caused by some software your may have on your machine or indeed possibly virus related.

This download link and application are supposed to fix the error

    That's much appreciated!!

Not sure about virus related. The only sites I've visited on the laptop are the odd discussion forum like www.boards.ie or www.metalireland.com and my bank's online log in. I haven't opened any attachments I haven't been expecting.

Interesting thing to note is that if I log off first and then hit the shut down option there are usually no problems.

I'll give that fix a shot anyway. Thanks!!
